Terraprava is the dream… of Monia who admires the hill shaded by unusual maritime pines from the balcony of her childhood home, pampered by the stories of her father and her grandmother who tell her about when they cultiveted those lands with vineyards and cereals as shapecroppers.
Terraprava is the fairy tale…of Fabian who one day in March 2014 accompanies Monia up the hill and telles her: “from today all this is ours, make your dream shine!”
Terraprava is a farm located in Romano d’Ezzelino on the rolling Veneto’s hills between the historic villages of Bassano del Grappa and Asolo.
Today Terraprava is home to a vineyard of 2.6 hectares divided between 8000 m² of Souvignier Gris (Piwi variety), 6000 m² of Chardonnay, 6000 m² of old red grape varieties recovered from the viticultural heritage of the Veneto region and 6000 m² of Pinot Noir and then bees and chickens in the vineyard, fruit trees of ancient and now unknown varieties, hazelnuts.
Since the birth of Terraprava Monia and Fabian have embraced the organic and biodynamic farming methods (with organic certification arriving in 2020) driven by the desire to create an oasis where respect for nature and environment are essential and inestimable values.
For this reason, every day in Terraprava we never compromise between quality and quantity and we humbly take care of our soil, our capital, that will decide how many and which fruits to give us.
For this reason, syntethic chemicals in Terraprava are absolutely forbidden. We use essential oil of grapefruit and rosemary, decoctions and tea of nettle and horsetail, algae and biodynamic preparations that link the cosmic to the terrestral forces, help the mechanism of humus formation and stimulate the functions of light and heat.
We sow green manures and work soil only when it asks to be worked limiting the use of agricultural machinery with a careful eye to the rhythms of nature and its forces respecting the plant and the animal world.
